Event Description

The White River Sno Park event center is located next to Highway 35 at the southern base of Mt Hood. The event courses are in an area carved out by massive snow melts each year, so much of the environment is composed of many similar drainage ditches in an environment of scattered trees. To be sure you’re following the correct ditch, it’s important to remain in contact with your map at all times. Fortunately, the area is mostly bounded by a national forest road and the White River, so you won’t go too far if you get disoriented. This event will include all seven courses, but these courses will zig zag throughout the limited area mapped for this event, so it will be easy to be distracted by other runners. For an extra special outing, make this a two-day event and spend the previous day hiking around White River West, which has many interesting areas to explore. Lodging can be found at Government Camp Welches. Camping can be found at many local campgrounds along Highways 30 and 26.
