Mt Hood Orienteering
Event Description

This very dispersed competition occurs at 15+ venues throughout the Portland metro area from Hillsboro to Gresham and from Oregon City to the Columbia River. You have 3, 6, or 9 hours to find as many controls as possible in any order using the maps provided for the venues. To travel between these venues, you may use the Trimet frequent-service buses, trains, and streetcars, which offer you a chance to rest while planning your strategy between venues. Each control has a different score value (typically low scores for easier controls and high score for more difficult controls).
This competition uses the MapRun® app installed on your phone or watch to monitor your time, track your routes, and record your controls found. You may also use the Trimet website to plan your transit routes and to see where your next transit vehicle is currently located so that you can optimize your time by getting to the best transit station for your routing needs. The use of any other GPS tracking services is prohibited.
